Loved the cozy bar/restaurant, where I could eat, drink, and relax. The room was basic but spotlessly clean and had air-con. A great value for money!
Such a shame that the village I stayed in had nothing to offer besides charm. How dare they not cater exclusively to tourists' needs?

The Catalan dishes served in the restaurant were a delightful surprise. Each bite was like a burst of flavor that transported me straight to the heart of Catalonia. I felt like I was dining in a Michelin-starred restaurant, but without the hefty price tag.
Early morning disturbances.

This hotel is full of character and met all our basic requirements. The location in the beautiful mountains was stunning and allowed for peaceful walks. The food at the bar/cafe/restaurant was first-rate, with good quality and probably locally sourced ingredients. The staff were friendly and made sure our meals were made to order.
Everything was spot on.

Our stay at Fonda Ca La Paula was well worth the money. The room was comfortable and had all the essentials. The location was perfect, right on the main street and a short walk to the viewpoints. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home.
The breakfast offerings could have been a bit more diverse.

The room was basic but so clean and comfortable with the bonus of air-con. Eating downstairs in the very friendly bar/restaurant was really nice and very convenient- breakfast was good with lots of choice. We chose to have dinner there too and it was great - a very good fixed price menu to choose from, friendly service, and delicious puddings. The bathroom was very small, making the use of toilet and the closing of the door, awkward. Staff's communication skills are excellent; the hostess was very kind to provide us with an extra radiator for drying our soaking clothes after being caught in a torrential shower climbing up to this wonder village. The bar/restaurant on the premise is lively and popular amongst locals themselves. The menu has a reasonable choice of food that is presented well, tastes good and is priced fairly. Overall the atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant and would not hesitate to recommend or return in the near future. Like most all hotels in Spain - the pillows were hard as rocks. I tried sleeping with my down sweater as a pillow, but that didn't work out so well. The town and the hotel are full of character. While you might not realize it when you're there, the town is perched on a cliff - great for keeping invaders at bay. We appreciated that fact when we took a beautiful hot air balloon ride the next morning and looked down on our abode. The room was clean and comfortable - just what we wanted. We ate dinner there and it was excellent. We were told at check in that the restaurant was open for guests from 8 to 9:15 so went down to find it was closed. One male member of staff was very unhelpful. Raymond, the boss spoke good English and was very helpful but we felt the other guy was anti British as I mistakenly thought he was Raymond and asked him something in English, he shouted at me "I don't speak English" and stormed off. Not any use for anyone disabled as a lot of stairs. The room was basic but comfortable and had everything we needed. Right in the main street and about 10 minutes walk from the viewpoints. Lovely towels, very comfortable beds. We got a second floor room, with no elevator of course. This is despite the fact that the reservation was made in June. We asked for a room on the first floor, we were told that everything was full. In the end, we settled on a single room. We did not receive any discount for the change. The girl in reception is nice, but does not know English at all. It is not easy to translate on the telephone. It should be noted that the owner, who arrived in the evening, knows English and that the food in the restaurant at dinner is very tasty! It is located in a 19th-century building that has been upgraded. Some of the upgrades are very good, while others are not so pleasing to the eye. The hallways are particularly narrow, and the stairs are not the best. Not related to the hotel stay. The village is charming, however nothing else is there to do. The cold cuts museum is closed down, the small town brewery owner didn’t want to open its doors that night. Other two good restaurants don’t open at night. The Church’s tower is not open during the week for visitors. They don’t seem impressed by tourists and apparently are happy not to increase their business with them. Or Perhaps it is just the end of season.

The rooms at Fonda Ca la Paula are cozy and comfortable, with air-conditioning to keep us cool during our stay. The TV provided some entertainment for the kids, and the private bathroom had a hairdryer, making getting ready in the morning a breeze. Plus, the mountain views from some rooms were absolutely breathtaking!
I personally wished the room had a bathtub instead of just a shower, but that's just my preference. Others may not mind the lack of a bathtub at all.

As foreign tourists, we loved the friendly staff, cozy and well-equipped rooms, and the heating during our stay. The restaurant downstairs served delicious food, and their homemade liquor was a true delight. The location on the edge of the old town was also a plus.
Felt cozy, nothing to complain about.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. The room was clean and comfortable, with a great view of the mountains. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the town, making it easy to explore and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The restaurant downstairs served delicious food at a surprisingly affordable price. it was a fantastic weekend getaway and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a charming and convenient place to stay.
That there was no elevator, so getting to my second floor room was a bit of a hassle with all my luggage. the staff's lack of English language skills made communication a bit challenging at times.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure our family had a comfortable stay. Our room had a beautiful view of the lush mountains, and the peaceful atmosphere allowed us to relax and unwind. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was refreshing after a long day of exploring. The hotel's restaurant served delicious Catalan cuisine at a great value, and the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was also delightful, with plenty of options for everyone in the family. We especially loved the location of the hotel, as we could easily walk around the medieval town and enjoy the stunning views and charming streets.
For families with younger children, it would be great to have a designated play area or outdoor space where they can safely enjoy themselves.

My experience at Fonda Ca La Paula was amazing. The town is perched on a cliff, offering stunning views. The hotel itself is full of character and the room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. The bar/restaurant on site served authentic Spanish cuisine and had excellent service. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was enjoyable. The location of the hotel, on the edge of the old town, was also very convenient. The proprietor was friendly and helpful, making my stay even more pleasant. I loved everything about this place and plan to return for a longer stay.
Nothing to dislike here! 😊

The room at Fonda Ca La Paula was so cozy and comfortable, with a TV and air conditioning to keep me entertained and cool. The private bathroom with a hairdryer was a nice touch too. I loved the intimate feel of the room, perfect for a solo traveler like me.
The only downside for me was that not all rooms had mountain views. But hey, that's just my personal preference.

We had a wonderful stay at a charming hotel in a picturesque town. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains and was clean and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel served delicious local food. Private parking was a plus. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were amazed by the stunning location of this hidden gem. Perched on a cliff, the views were absolutely breathtaking! The simplicity of the rooms added to the charm, and they were impeccably clean. The food at the restaurant was exceptional, and we were even treated to a special homemade liquor that was unlike anything we had ever tasted.
Despite a minor issue with slow service in the restaurant, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They opened the restaurant early for us and ensured that we had everything we needed in our room, including heating to combat the chilly weather.

Friendly staff, good restaurant, ample parking space, convenient location on main street, basic but clean rooms with effective bathrooms, mountain view.
All was good.
